West Coast Striders track and field is operated by former professional sprinter and wide receiver Corey Nelson. Coach Nelson brings over 30 years of experience as a professional athlete, high school and community college coach, youth athlete, parent, and USATF certified official. 

Athletes who compete in USATF sanctioned meets will have an opportunity to earn a medal in their competitive event. Win or lose, the goal is to progress and improve throughout the season. Athletes will compete in local and regional meets in effort to earn a spot to compete at the national track and field championships for their respective age group.

Welcome to West Coast Striders Track Club, focused on training and developing athletes in sprints, hurdles, middle distance and field events. West Coast Striders was founded in 2011 and opened for competitive training in 2018. Over the years we have celebrated youth, elite, and master athletes. Since the clubs first year of competition in 2018, athletes have earned state, local, regional and Junior Olympic medals and won championships.

The season runs December through July and welcomes athletes starting at age 7, if birthdate is on or before December 31.


Winter season registration opens November 15th.


Spring/Summer season registration opens March 7th. 


West Coast Striders is a USATF certified and insured track and field club operating in Arizona and California. West Coast Striders track and field club offers speed, endurance, and technical training for youth, open, and master athletes who are competitive or individuals working toward overall self-improvement. Our goal as a community focused track and field club is to cultivate a fun and energetic atmosphere that gradually eases athletes into the physical and emotional demands of the sport as they master their skill and achieve success.
